MAX@,

I happened to notice the following review displayed under JOREN VAN REE reviews:

http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=1438">Pink Floyd - Meddle album review and track listing PINK FLOYD - Meddle
Review by http://www.progarchives.com/Collaborators.asp?id=40 - Joren @ 5:37:21 AM EST, 12/1/2003
PROG REVIEWER
5 stars  —   All of the tracks are great! Especially "One Of These Days".

However the above review is not displayed when I navigate to the PINK FLOYD "Meddle" page via the PROG INDEX. Why is it missing? Does this mean that other reviews could also be missing (for "Meddle", or indeed for other albums)? Very strange.

Fitzcarraldo,

I noticed a couple of mine (both short) were missing too. I think those which didn't meet the minimum length criteria (i.e. 50 words) were swept and removed. Max did warn that this was going to happen.

The problem I find now is that I can't add them back in duly extended to be more than 50 words, as you only get one post per album!

If you log into your collaborator info, you can scroll through all of your reviews and edit the ones which are too short to be admitted. Do not try to write a new review with your same e-mail, it will disappear into the ether. I know, it happened to me.

Hope this helps.

Nice one Danbo, I hadn't thought of that! Magically, the reviews reappeared on the album pages. Many thanks.Thumbs Up

Lucas, I agree with what you say, and the omission of the review cited above is certainly no great loss. There are however occasions when a brief few words will do. Two examples:

  • Albums which are simply other albums repackaged. For example there are two Best of Barclay James Harvest listed, identical in every way except the sleeve design. Post the same review for both, or just a one liner for one to to cross reference to the other?
  • Re-releases which bundle together 2 or more albums which are also listed separately. BJH example again, "And other short stories" and Baby James Harvest" are both listed separately. They also appear as a 2 on 1 album later on. Once again (BJH fans - no pun intended), the tracks are identical. Post a review for each, and both the reviews combined for the 2 on 1, or a one liner for the 2 on 1 referring to the original albums?

The reviews are too short. I asked Max to completely delete my reviews that are too short. I want to rewrite them. I wrote the short ones when I was new to the website, so I didn't know...
