Hello, earlier this year we released an album with my band, I'd like to hear your opinions, it would be interesting to have an internacional appreciation on the matter. I will only say it's a concept album.

Youtube link for album Quásar:

If you like this, I'd like to recomend some other bands from argentina that have released albums recently. Such as:

Flaxon, "La fabula del bisonte y el pavo real":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VtVFoNc2Eg&list=OLAK5uy_m49sGbhDErr5oRl2tlP0d1I4tRKWZlWDc

Caliz(specially numbers like "ARN el mensajero" and "Isaura"):

If you'd like more information on any of these bands please let me know, sadly the last one of them appears to have disbanded. But if you are interested in concept or something else let me know.
(Sorry if my english is not very good)

Hi,

Wonderful listens on all three of these. Just finished all three in their entirety.

I wish that more folks in PA would listen to these things (not just peck and pinch!!!), and then give an honest appraisal of the music, but I guess they are too busy listening to their favorite bomb for the 150th time! Wink

Quasar is very nice. I really like the keyboard "washes" and "sounds" that remind me so much of a couple of things that Rick Wakeman did in TFTO, but was never able to do it again ... he wanted to solo, not help create atmosphere. Here, it is absolutely neat and far out, and adds great moments to the music. Will definitely look for more by this band. Wonderful stuff.

Flaxon, was interesting for me, and that opening cut was magnificent with that "hint" of some Magma vocals, or something else, way out there ... the rest of the album, for me, is not as great, but it is a nice listen all around.

Caliz, is a bit more conventional for my tastes, but nice. A smooth listen, and not exactly a show off band (look maa ... I'm playing progressive music!!!) and this made it a bit more fluent and worth the listen in my ears. I am not sure how to say much more at this moment on this one, but will hear it again.

Lots of good luck on this ... wonderful stuff that deserves the mention and credit were it not for the commercial sound of "progressive" these days ... all three of these bands were totally outside that monster mash copykat trash!

Definitely will look to more from there!

Hi,

Sincere apologies, that no one else has taken the time and effort to listen to these and comment.

It's so sad, and I can't help thinking that folks here are not into the music from around the world ... way too ethnocentric for that to happen!

So sorry ... these bands deserved a comment with some really nice material, specially when compared to so many cookie cutter bands around.

I haven't had a chance to listen to the other albums, but I really enjoyed the Quásar album. Just amazing!

I'm enjoying Quásar too, immensely. Beyond influences, these guys take the listener to a trip, from beginning to end.
I think that someone should suggest them for inclusion here, but I don't have a single shred of data about the band, excepting their names.

Quasar deserves to be in Prog Archives. They are much better than 90% of the bands included in this website.
