Hi everyone !
First, I'd like to say : I'm totally amazed by the huge work that's been done in this forum since a long time, I'm just discovering it right now... and really feeling like I've missed out something !
My name is Sebastien, and I would like to give you a short introduction of my band BAGFED, based in the east of France, since we are currently releasing new music that I believe, would be a good fit on this forum. (but you tell me :-) )
I am the singer / songwriter / guitarist of the band, and also the producer (I've started my own recording studio company 2 years ago, working mainly with local indie artists). My fellow drummer is a lifetime friend, who's also a great keyboard player, and composer. Our bass player joined the band about 12 years ago, fitting perfectly with our common influences, sense of timing and groove.
On our latest record ("Brand New Souls", 8 track LP), we decided to care ourselves about all the keyboard parts, so the drummer and myself basically shared the tracks.
We'll be releasing a music video for the title track "Brand New Souls" on next Friday, in the meantime a lyric video is available on our youtube channel :
I'd be really glad to know what you think about this track !
We'll be releasing new tracks on streaming platforms regularly in the coming months, but the whole album is already available for listening on our website (by hitting "play" on the media player at the bottom of the screen) : https://www.bagfed.net/" rel="nofollow - https://www.bagfed.net/ - and also on our bandcamp : https://bagfed.bandcamp.com/album/brand-new-souls" rel="nofollow - https://bagfed.bandcamp.com/album/brand-new-souls
I believe it would fit your "Eclectic Prog" sub-genre definition, because it really is eclectic : most songs would be closer to rock or even pop rock influences, while some others really head towards jazzy funk rock, or symphonic prog, or prog pop... we really don't mind crossing the boundaries and including any influence that we love, as long as it fits the vibe of the song. However, I think the prog DNA is always there, with harmonic changes, adult chords, guitar and keyboard solos, adventurous bridge sections that we try to make epic, musical, and groovy. That's the intention, at least :-)
If some of you have the time to go through the songs (even just fast forwarding parts of them), I'd be really interested about your feedback on the sub-genre, and more generally about our music matching with your expectations on this forum.
In the meantime - I wish you all a great day - have fun !
Best Regards Seb
