Van Dyke Parks is a composer, arranger, musician, and producer from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, known for his experimental art pop output. A long a fruitful career, starting in 1953, has seen Parks releasing eight studio albums to date, one live album, and three compilations; but also writing film scores and even acting himself.
Another interesting and particularly impressive episode of Parks' career is writing for The Beach Boys between 1967 and 1973, leading to several collaborative projects with Brian Wilson; Parks also co-wrote Ringo Starr's 2009 album 'Walk With You', and has played with the Mothers of Invention.

Here's a picture of Parks and Wilson:

I'm a big fan of Parks but never find any progressive essence via his creation. Do not expect much though I'll alert Team.

Anyway, your "Discover America" YouTube link is dead.

Nice! It sounds kinda like Klaatu, except more folk-ish.
