A) Original bio + Band pic: Black Country Communion was formed in 2009 in LA, California by an impressive cast of well-known characters in the progressive and hard rock scenes: Glen Hughes on lead vocals and bass guitar, Derek Sherinian on all keyboards, Joe Bonamassa on guitars and vocals, and drummer Jason Bonham. Upon their creation, they started working with producer Kevin Shirley. Their self-titled debut album came to life in September 2010 to a very positive response from critics and fans. The different backgrounds of the maestro musicians resulted in a sound that mixes hard rock and blues rock with tints of prog and fusion; Moreover, the songs' lengths vary from 3 to 11 minutes on their impressive debut, giving an indication that these men will always take their time when needed. Their second studio album, named 'Black Country Communion 2' came shortly after, in June 2011. In 2012, the band released their third LP, 'Afterglow' that is their first one to receive more mixed reviews. In 2017, the band released 'BCCIV', a very strong borderline-heavy prog album that was a serious return to form, once again receiving very positive and praising reviews. Between 2013 and 2016, BCC was disbanded. As of April 2021, the band is slowly but steadily working on their fifth studio album. Love the band to bits, and have even seen them live in Washington DC a few years ago. Glenn Hughes is one of my top 5 vocalists. However, I don't really see a lot of relation with prog in their music, and would be hesitant to bring them before the Admin Team for addition to PR. Any prog influences they might have in their music are rather flimsy. Before you bring up other hard rock bands that are included in the DB, most of them were active at the same time as the classic prog bands, and the influences are much more obvious. T
