Prog Rating (Is it progressive): 9.5/10

Rock Rating (Does it rock?): 9/10

Creativity Rating (Are the artists pushing their style to the limits?): 7/10 (10/10 for Steve Hillage).

Musicianship Rating (Do the artists execute the music well?): 8/10 (10/10 for Steve!)

Enjoyment Rating (Do I like it?): 9/10

Total : 42.5/50 = 85%. Technically 5 stars, but dragged down by the vocal sections

Mark is not only writing brillant reviews, but  he found a nice way to fine-tune the global 5 star- rating system. Why not elaborate a ventillated rating system inspired by Mark's and still keep an overall note.

A Certif1ed rating system? He will be proud!

On topic, though, I think there's something of a flaw in any system where enjoyment only accounts for 20% of the score...

And also what has the thing of it being progressive or not to do with the cace? It can be the most progressive album in the world but still be bloody awful l

Well, you need some frame and in this case it is PROG, Ottherwise it comes down to taste. And you can't analyze or discuss taste.

mmm, I find it a bit flawed because an album maybe isn't progressive, yet is extremely enjoyable (my favourite album of all times : Led Zeppelin I)

I also find it flawed to find the mean of the scores of each song because length is not taken into consideration. Imagine if someone reviews Relayer and HATES 'gates of Delirium' (20+ minute long song) yet loves the other 2 shorter songs to death ... he/she might end up with a 3.5 star review.
