Surprised no one else has yet reported the sad passing of Roger Trigaux on Wednesday evening.  Roger Trigaux graced the first two Univers Zero albums, '1313' and 'Heresies' before leaving to form Present, which continued to perform until relatively recently.  Present, the latter group, released two seminal albums 'Triskadekaphobie' (1980) and 'Le Poison Que Rend Fou' (1985) before going into hiatus until the 90s.  These two albums feature his friend from Univers Zero, Daniel Denis.  You will see the write ups elsewhere on Prog Archives.  We have lost a real giant of the RIO scene and reading some of the personal reports, an all round good human being.

I've been meaning to check out both UZ and Present. So much music to get to in my life! But I will now prioritize them after I dig even deeper into Chick.

Sad - these musicians, UZ and Present, so amazing, so unsung.  They will all eventually pass mourned only by a tiny few, despite the immense magnitude of their achievements.

Will be listening to Present later today.

Going through some present the past couple of days...damn is this an excellent entity. I know they were scheduled to make a new album (I believe Covid halted those plans atleast temporarily), and not to sound selfish, but I do hope that gets released despite this sad news.

Very saddened by the news. I've been a Present fan since I bought Triskaidekaphobia in the 80's and it's still a favorite. I'm glad that I had the chance to see Present and to briefly met Roger twice, once on tour in the US and once at the RIO festival in Carmaux. He always struck me as a dark yet gentle soul.

True, but who knows. His music will live on and perhaps even endure with a small or even growing number of aficionados. It has often been the case in the Arts that recognition comes only after the artist is long gone...
