Many of the jacket covers I've had since the 70's are now degrading. Every time I pull an album out they seem to split or fracture. Anyone have recommendations on which ones to get and from where. I seem to have trouble finding ones that comfortably hold albums like Tommy, Yessongs, All Things Must Pass or Welcome Back My Friends...

Many, I find, are tight on even single thin jackets.

Thanks

I buy mine from Sleeve City. I use their Ultimate Outer 2.5mil, they are nice and thick, corners hold up really well and they don't fog up with age and they fit my gatefold albums. They also have wider sleeves for like small box sets or 3-LP sets like a trifold. For example my IQ albums TRoB and Resistance need wider sleeves as they are trifold, if you ask them they will send you a sample for you to try.

I just ordered 100 outer sleeves and some MOFI record sleeves.

Those thick, clear, pungent PVC sleeves are bad news. DO NOT USE THEM.
I go for these lightly ‘cloudy’ plastic sleeves (they are various thicknesses), they are safe and serve their purpose well. Look out, as they can be really thin and flimsy, go for a thicker option, and that depends on your stockist and what’s available. If they have that ‘petro-chemical’ smell to them, they will cloud your vinyl (i have a dozen or so that has happen ed over the years....).

No PVC in this guy's collection. Strictly PolyPro.
But good advice for anyone who wasn't aware.
