I would honestly consider Just a Collection of Antiques and Curios my favorite of the Strawbs earlier albums. A gem and a personal favorite of mine from the album, The Antique Suite, has also appeared on the Witchwood Media release Recollection (2006). I would be interested to hear the opinions of my fellow proggers on which mix they prefer and why. Clap

I haven't heard Recollection at all.  I suppose I should, given that it includes Wakeman playing in more songs that were originally on the first album, prior to his joining.

The acoustic version of the song on 'Painted Sky' is probably my all-time favorite Strawbs moment.

Painted may not be as strong overall as Baroque but imo a definitely essential one nonetheless.

Hero and Heroine and Grave New World will always be my 2 favorites though all lp's From the  Witchwood through to Ghosts are all great imo...I even like the very first 2....but Curios is a very good album also.
