 As I was greeted this morning by news of more airplay (well, netplay?  I don't know what the common parlance is for certain these days) anyway, more Tom Kelly music being generously shared by "radio," hosts, and today being the day, here is another of these from me to you.

 Now that you are probably dying of curiousity for me to finally get to the point, our wonderful German friend, Larne Peters, is going to be playing something on his Larne's Finest show on Prog Alley today.  Begins at 1PM PST and goes until about 5PM PST, often Tom has shown up after his midnight (Larne’s time) tolling of the bells, but you never know.  There is a lovely little chat room that he has as well, join us if you have some free time (chatzy.com, search for Larne's Finest).

In other news, this past week has seen 3 appearances of Martian Music, two were on 18 September, Steven Davies-Morris featured the entire 3 suites from A Quail's House on Through the Looking Glass on Deep Nuggets and Chapter 1 : A Book Wife, was played on Aural Moon the same date.

Also, as prophesied, Emma Roebuck premiered the title track from Spinning Through Eternity on the Progzilla Northern Star show, the chat room experienced a pleasant explosion, with another visiting host keen on playing Tom's music as well, he described the music as "crackin!"    Emma will also be playing more in the future, I have no doubt.

This upcoming week will mark one trip around the sun since the music was released.

Also, I have heard from a trusted source that there will be more music of Tom's played on The Monday Chemistry Sets on, you guessed it, folks, Monday, 30 September, in honour of the year anniversary of the release of the 3 CD's.  Alex Cruzeta hosts (and is a kick to listen to), the prog hour is usually the second hour.  This is on 5PM until usually 9PM PST, on Deep Nuggets radio.

Other airplay this week has been on 21 September, Larne spun, appropriately, "Spinning Through Eternity," on Prog Alley and Aural Moon Radio played the eerie, "East Fork," on the same date, just a little earlier in the day.

Airplay since the last time there was any significant news is that on 23 October, on Steven Davies-Morris' Through the Looking Glass 6th Anniversary show on Deep Nuggets Radio, he played a 3 piece feature of Tom's music, including Sleepy Love at Bodie Flats, The Tolling of St John's Bells and Spinning Through Eternity.  

Kev Slaymaker also played The Bend on his Between Two Worlds CRMK show on 28 October, which had an Oregon theme, The Bend representing the town of Bend, OR.

Other random airplay has been continued surfacing on Aural Moon Radio and also Delicious Agony Radio apparently now has him on rotation as well....a friend alerted me to his being played on 25 November.

Also, a 5 star review of Burnt Peas was penned by Olav Martin Björnsen on another site, he granted 4 stars to A Quail’s House and am awaiting his take on Spinning Through Eternity.  Unsure if it's kosher to link to the site here, but am sure that many of you know of him.

It really means a lot to have such great reviews coming out and also that some of the hosts are taken enough with the music to return to it several times.  There is always a spike in listenership on streaming services and sales when this happens, so it's greatly appreciated.  Please do give a listen to those stations/hosts that have shown continued support, if you have the chance.

Also announcing that Kev Rowland's reviews of all 3 of the CD's was just released in a hard copy format by Amplified, which is a fanzine that Kev actually created under the name of "Feedback," which he ran for 16 years.  It is the newsletter of Mensa's Rock Music Special Interest Group in the UK, now run by Phil Roach.Two of the CD covers were also chosen for the back cover of the Fanzine.  Link to Kev's reviews here on PA are at the end of this post.

From the Department of Kind of Mind-Blowing Eerie Coincidences Department, this happened today, of all days.  This is the 3rd anniversary of Tom's death.  Take note of the song they chose and also the ad....

I'd been in contact with this station and had had some technical trouble getting them Tom's music and finally was able to on my third try, with some direction from the Station Owner, who I suspected might have lost patience with me and the project.  I got the music to him about 2 weeks ago and hadn't heard anything, other than "they would get back to me."  

Today, at around 1:30PM, I left a show that I often listen to on Tuesdays, which was just ending and thought I'd check in on the station's Progressive show.  Note the tune and also the ad.  There is a little further news, though, in that I messaged the Station Owner to thank him for the add and he said that he'd be uploading two more of Tom's songs to get them into rotation this week.

A bit of levity since we all could use a laugh, this morning I was inspired to have Mr TJeans help with the coffee prep.  For those few who don't know the link to Tom with Resurrection, tea and coffee, Tom and band Mistress Quickly used to play Tom's very quirky piece, "Resurrection (By Coincidence),"  which included some vocals using a fake Latinesque language.  Tom also drank plenty of tea all of his life, TJeans was actually a gift to him from my friend, Jan, and he's been having adventures ever since.  Tom also spent 10 years of his life as a machinist at the Starbucks roasting plant in Minden, NV.  He was very happy to retire from there, I can tell you. 

On 15 September, it was 3 years since Tom died and it's now been almost 2 years since releasing this music.  I'm amazed that people are still discovering him...really, this kind of music doesn't come with an expiration date.

From the Department of Inclusion In Upcoming Anniversarial (is that even a word?  Now it is) Airplay Department, I bring a little bit of advance notice of whereupon you might tune your earses upon an otherwise mundane Monday evening, or perhaps, morning (and make that perhaps, a terrestrial Tuesday), depending on what part of this little blue planet you might be calling home (you know who you are ).

Alex Cruzeta will be presenting his 7th Anniversary show tonight on Deep Nuggets, airing from 5PM - 9PM PDT.  The Prog Hour is about the second hour in or so and one of his little birdies showed up in my message box, alerting me (as birdies do, perhaps it's a chicken, and may the sky not be falling, if that is the case) to the fact that he will indeed be including music by Tom Kelly.  There will be the usual reminders in FB, this is the only  notification here that will be issued, however, so mark your calendars, no matter which type you prefer, digital or analog.  Alex's shows are diverse and it's especially fun to listen in on his commentary, before and after his various sets.  So don't miss it!  Link to Deep Nuggets:https://deepnuggets.com/

An auspicious number of hits on this Tom Kelly Appreciation topicwas achieved yesterday, 8888.  Granted, some of these are my sharing of information re airplay and such in there, but I found it particularly amusing to think of this being an indication of spinning through eternity, but on it's side.  A photo will be attached at the end of this missive.

No, not airplay (is that such a thing on Mars?) today, just a milestone and very grateful thanks to be given.

Three years ago, these three recordings of Tom Kelly’s music were released.  It took just a little more than a year to sort through, compile and prepare all of this material.  I could not have done it without the help of David Hurst, who did all of the technical studio work and also all of the artwork, outside of the original artwork done by Joel Stafford on “Spinning Through Eternity.”  My grateful thanks to them and also to all of the people below, who have played or reviewed Tom’s music over the last three years.  Some have become particular champions, the music is still being played on quite a few of these and is still being added to new stations and hosted shows alike.  Grateful thanks especially, to Kevin Feeley, for being “the man who makes the introductions,” and also to Tatsurou Ueda, the first person to purchase the discography, which led me to the world of progressive chat rooms.
