Peak, a "progressive electronic" band from here in Adelaide ( http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4192" rel="nofollow - PA entry is here ) had a reunion gig scheduled for 21 July 2017, after apparent inactivity since their only album http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=20860" rel="nofollow - Ebondązzar was released in 1980. Gig details http://jivevenue.com/events/peak-in-concert/" rel="nofollow - here .

Various notes about the gig on FB suggest that the two guys from Peak are working on new music too, some of which was planned for the gig, so that could be interesting.

I only found out about this event yesterday (which is par for the course for me anyway) - sadly there seemed to be minimal publicity for it.

Assuming that the gig went ahead, please use this thread as an chance to provide a review for posterity...

Smile

Edit: to insert link to gig details

Yes, I agree based on what I've heard of their music on the web these days.

I remember many years ago seeing second-hand copies of Ebondazzar in record shops around Adelaide and pondering what style of music it contained - this was in pre-Internet days of course. After pondering a purchase of the record, I always put the LP back down and bought other stuff instead. Now of course I wish I'd bought one of those copies - I haven't seen one for a very long time...

Here is a little more info about last year's reformation of Peak:  http://scenestr.com.au/music/the-return-of-peak-soundscaping-adelaide-s-music-history" rel="nofollow - https://scenestr.com.au/music/the-return-of-peak-soundscaping-adelaide-s-music-history

As I've seen nil subsequent info about either another gig or release of a new Peak album, I'd guess that the two guys behind Peak have gone back to their day-jobs for the time being...

Well, in the time since the above posts, Peak have indeed issued their rather overdue second album (now also on PA).

They have also set up a Facebook page, which may be of use to anyone interested in what they are up to in the future - it is here:
