At the tail end of 2017, I thought I was going to choose Wobbler's latest release as my AOTY, but then I discovered Non Newtonian Man's debut album, https://open.spotify.com/artist/7kuIFSLgtimBxPt5s0rIZk" rel="nofollow - Clouds . I was blown away by the grooves and melodies, but I haven't seen much press relating to it. What do you all think?

You're right, impressing album Clap
it looks like they do not care much about promotion. I did what I could, wrote a flaming review for progarchives, played songs on my broadcast, have recommended other streaming sources like bandcamp and progstreaming. They will need a promoter with professional background, I'm quite sure ...

They really should hire one for their album. As for now, their social media accounts quickly became quiet, and I'm unsure how effective it is to upload 30 second samples on YT. (Though I did buy the digital album solely on those brief clips.) They also seem to be having issues with releasing the physical version of Clouds; when I contacted them in January, they had no ETA for it.

Also, nice review! I can only hope more people check them and buy the album because I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the planned trilogy.

Modern Italian bands blow me away.

I liked the Non Newtonian Man's riffs and music (especially Pawn) however I found the vocals reminded me of several grunge bands I dislike, thus spoiling the experience for me.   I'm more vocally sensitive then most progressive rock aficionados.

"Pawn" is such a good instrumental. The riffs are aggressive and powerful, but what I really love about the song is when the guitar abates and the keys and strings come to the forefront; it's like a wave of water hitting the shoreline but then receding back into the ocean. It's beautiful. The band does this throughout the album, but it's most salient on "Pawn" due to it being purely focused on the instruments.
Oh, and the rhythm section kicks butt--especially the bass.
