Magma, Toby Driver, Stereolab, Everything But The Girl, Telemann, and 70s soul/R & B. I amaze even myself.

Gender/Sexual Orientation/Racial stereotyping - hasn't this topic been covered in a lot of other posts? The human consciousness (clearly the parser of the musical input) might be prejudiced by elements introduced via accident of birth and social engineering - an interesting thesis for a graduate in one of the neural sciences I reckon. I have a gay man friend and ex-work colleague who loves Opeth and Adele !!! My eldest son loves Michael Buble and big band music yet my youngest Loves Opeth and Pain of salvation....Polar opposites in musical taste yet brought up in the same environment...interesting stuff!

My Wife says she is surprised I like The Grateful Dead as they just sound like a country band to her. I have also had eyebrows raised that I can possibly like 50's rock n roll and 60's Motown..

Given that in real life I’m a cheerleader named Marcie, people are sometimes surprised by my single-minded obsession with early Univers Zero.

Hi,

I'm sorry ... but for me this question means ... a fart and leaving the room for good!

There are far many more great folks in this board that I would love to share a cup of tea, or pizza with, but I certainly would not bother with one of those folks that think that way about music and any of the arts.

The biggest complaint I get? Wow, is there, really, that much more music? I usually answer I probably don't have 5% of it ... if I'm lucky on a given day!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
