Ran into this album on YouTube tonight, and it's an absolute belter for anyone who enjoys the classic Mike Oldfield sound (though many might say it's purely a rip-off of the great man). This album was recorded by a kid who'd just left school in the university town of Gießen in Hesse, Germany in 1982 - playing all the instruments himself, just as Oldfield himself had done - to include classical guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, mandolin, bouzouki, keyboards, piano, harpsichord, glockenspiel, xylophone, & percussion.

Original vinyl album Heiles Land (released by Talent, 1982  ‎– 2372 155)

A1. BarfuB im Gras (3:22)
A2. Schmetterlinge (1:45)
A3. Heiles Land I (20:55)
B1. Morgennebel (3:33)
B2. Heiles Land II (20:12)

Total Time 49:47

However, a review of the album on http://www.babyblaue-seiten.de/album_4448.html" rel="nofollow - babyblaue gives the following track list, so it seems it must have been reissued on CD by someone or other...I believe privately (see PDF link below).

1. Heiles Land (Teil I) (20:54)
2. Heiles Land (Teil II) (20:08)
3. Schmetterlinge (1:46)
4. Barfuß im Gras (3:12)
5. Morgennebel (3:31)
6. Hummelflug (bonus track) (5:08)
7. Siesta (bonus track) (1:44)
8. Barfuß im Gras (original version) (bonus track) (5:29)
9. Morgennebel (original version) (bonus track) (6:19)
10.Heiles Land Intro (original version) (bonus track) (2:54)

Total Time  71:05

Anyway, more info about the man can be gotten by anyone who can understand German from this PDF of an interview conducted with Hartmut in February 2001, when he was beginning to think about making a new album (to be called Souvenir):  http://www-user.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~junglas/zinn/H2Heft12_souvenir.pdf" rel="nofollow - http://www-user.rhrk.uni-kl.de/~junglas/zinn/H2Heft12_souvenir.pdf .

And just have a listen to this little gem if you dig Oldfield:

The topic which should have come next in the sequential 'bumping' of the list of unanswered 'Suggest New Bands and Artists' topics from 2016, but which was leapfrogged in the queue by  http://www.progarchives.com/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=109446" rel="nofollow - Crimson Stars Eyes .

I know that the Crossover team is in a bit of a state of limbo right now, but I'll run it through here again anyway. Embarrassed As I already said, this is a lovely album for Mike Oldfield fans, so it won't hurt to perhaps let a few more people discover it. Smile
