Come post pics of your Prog Listening room - where you dust all those old records off or play your Flac files or what ever. Note No CD's allowed in this room (PS Have another Cambridge Audio setup with CD ;) ) Mine consists of both of the above plus a Nak tape deck for even crustier old time listening, plus a PA thrown in for good measure. Happy listening - make it loud I say or don't play................

gotta feel the music as well as hear

I just listen to everything off of my computer and my two speakers. Don't want to show a picture because it'd just make me feel worse about how unkempt it is.

The Eddie patented speaker placement method (endorsed by Flo), multiple speakers and amps- as many as you can find as more is always better (eg like stacks of Marshalls at a rock concert)- Step 1. Then turn every thing on turn volume up, place needle on record (vinyl is best), leave that room very quickly (before record starts playing- go out thru neigbouring room, then outside to a comfy chair- Step 2 Light your pipe (with Tabaco or fix a drink of your preference and listen( feel the music coming thru the doors/ windows etc of mentioned room)- Step 3 Aah Step 4- Make sure you have no neighbours and/ or they are away.
That's my recommended listening setup- works well most weekends...........

Luckily for the neighbours I have a football oval ("Australian rules" of course), over the back fence as the only neighbour within earshot. Have not got the system in the pic above 11 O'clock yet but keen to try out 1 O'clock on the vol dial.
Will have to wait till wife not home to do that, mega strife otherwise- will let you know how its goes and if plaster falls from the ceiling.
PS Used to have a homemade Mosfet power amp I made (120w/ channel with dual power suppliers etc), that I put soooo many capacitors in (big caps- as big and many as I could afford at the time), that when I turned it off it would keep playing for 3 minutes before powering down. Was much louder than my current system- had it back in my uni days! The caps alone would make too expensive to make again now

Yeah well I'm a baby boomer and do the same thing. I still buy and collect vinyl but don't play it a lot. If it's something not available on Spotify I'll rip it with Voyetra and add to my iTunes or my private cloud player. I'm not home enough to play much music there, some of my most memorable listening experiences come at airports, hotels or walking around some foreign city. Cranking GY!BE or Opeth on headphones while people-watching in an airport is much more interesting than laying out the vinyl in a stuffy room at home.

I thought I posted a pic on this thread.....
Previous setup, new toys have been added since this pic
Setup after new speakers were added in June
My headphones are only used when I am setting REC levels and Monitoring on the R2R tape deck....Other than that speakers play my music.

No headphones, Jose. Those are 70s era Pioneer speakers on either side of the Telefunken stereo in the bottom picture. I can listen to music as late as I want without bothering anyone so I don't use headphones.

I've never listened to music all night but it's not uncommon for me to be up at 4:00 am. If I'm up and in my music room then I'm listening to music.

I have a few ongoing projects in the music room so there are times when the music is in the background. I don't sit and do nothing but listen very often and I probably couldn't for any length of time.

Not the craziest, but I certainly enjoy it :)
And of course my Genesis corner w/ all my Genesis albums, solo members albums, and Genesis related albums along with 45s. And then my random Blue Effect CD boxset and Kaipa boxset behind it cuz i havent figured out where to put them yet.

That is a coincidence, I have the 12" version as well. I've had them since the 70s when I was buying a lot of imports. The 12" is a Canadian pressing on the Atlantic label and the 7" is on the Charisma label. I don't know how I ended up with both versions but back then record shopping was sometimes a party event.

^ Nice! I can see how one could end up with a couple of the same LP or, in this case, the same EP. It can be hard to remember everything you own

My collection of new vinyl (released after 2000) is around 600 LPs.Even though I keep a list of new purchases I have ordered an album I already own four times. I blame PayPal for making it so easy to buy online.

On purpose I have been buying some duplicates, main reason is just to get a new fresh pressing. I cringe at the thought of destroying my stylus with a $3-$5 rekkid......not a good tradeoff!
I only buy VG+ as used, and inspect at the store before leaving.

Yea, you always have to give the vinyl a good look over before buying.

I have the craziest prog listening room.
It's acoustically treated with a full on home theater surround sound system including a sub woofer that generates 611 Watts of power.
What could be more proggy than that?
------------- Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣
