What do you think? How much are Banaau influenced by Genesis music? I speak especially of guitar and keyboard parts....

How many People do you think have heared "The Burial" here, that you think it would be enough for a discussion?
 
Personaly I would say there is a lot of Hackett guitar on this one, and of course some Banks sounds to.

Perhaps some clips could be provided?

Also, wouldn't the band that wrote and performed their own actual music be a better judge initally of how much it sounds like a particular band?!

First of all, thank you for posting this video. Other (instrumental) clips can be heard on the official website.

I am asking this because I am sincerely interested in other people ideas and opinions.
I do not think the band might give the better interpretation about this. When being creative, music is written so that it should represent the author's ideas and creativity. However, personal influences and tastes creep in.
Since I received very different interpretation about this songs, I'd like to hear the opinion of competent listeners that, like me, appreciate prog music.
Surely, Hackett influences are there. But slides, vibrato and legato phrases are more in the Satriani style (even if the music has very little to do with Satriani)...
