The several days unshaven look has become very popular in the movies. Jason Statham comes to mind. I think it's part of that "anti hero" look. I shave the sides of my face and my neck and let the rest grow. It's kind of a full goatee thing.

My last beard perished into flames almost 30 years ago. Now I have a wife who does not allow me to grow a beard. Just a short goatee now and then in recent years. -------------

Make that two weeks and you've got me...although I often do a Wolverine thang, where I remove the moustache and everything beneath my jaw line, keep it for a week before finally shaving everything off (with a trimmer no less. The Sci-fi show Sliders had an episode where they slid into a world where the women were the dominant sex and they had beards and moustaches and the men were all clean shaven and "pretty". I was at a baseball game about a month back where a group sitting next to us were having a Tom Selleck theme outing. All of the men had moustaches and were wearing hawaiian shirts....and so were all of the women. They wore sun glasses that had a moustache attached to it. It was a strange sight and not really a good look for them. :) -------------

Never understood the whole facial hair thing. Years ago I grew a beard a couple times but the beard came in red and the moustache was brown. I had very blonde hair so looked like a damn idiot. I have a Spock's Beard, several even, and some Beardfishes too But facial hair isn't my thing. Maybe a week-10 days growth but it comes out very grey these days, whilst my hair is (mostly) brown. Shaving my bum-fluff off drops a few years off my age !! |
