Does your version have the Nil Recurring EP on side D?

I bought it for the sound quality, A. I rarely play extras, usually finding them extras for a reason, if you know what I mean?

I certainly see what you mean, but what I was asking was whether your album is 50+ minutes long (w/o the Nil Recurring add-on), or about 80' long with Nil Recurring, Normal and What Happens Now.
There is of course a reason for extras being extras, but there must have also been a reason for Mr. Wilson to include Nil Recurring on some of the 2LP versions of FOABP.
PT has a whole album that is composed from nothing but outtakes from the previous recording sessions, the Recordings (I think?). I'd argue it's as great as any "core" PT album from that period.

Listen to Nil Recurring.
I prefer most of it to FOAB (unpopular opinion prolly).
Though Way Out Of Here is quite special.

yeah ![Clap Clap](smileys/smiley32.gif)
I've always leaned more towards Nil than FoaPB. Do love it though. I see Nil as FoaPB 1.5

FOAB? FOAPB? I think you all mean FOABP. ![Tongue Tongue](smileys/smiley17.gif)
Anesthetize is one of modern prog rock's best epics, if you call it an epic.

Not convinced its quite as good as many maintain although I like it. But then I like most PT with few exceptions.

I haven't listened to this album for a really long time, when I'm in the mood for some PT, I end up listening to In Absentia or Deadwing. I must listen to Fear... one of these days.

Oh, I haven't listened to Nil Recurring. I think it's going to feel really strange to hear it after all these years, my attitude toward Porcupine Tree has changed a lot.

Same here.....FOABP is one of my least favorite PT efforts. Not sure why but it just doesn't click with me.

exactly the same for me | This goes for me too - but from experience, I really loved FOABP - I mainly return to Coma Divine (possibly the ULTIMATE live recording), Signify, Transmission IV (the full Moonloop jam) and Sky Moves Sideways, over the rest, but I've found nothing 'weak', when all things PT are concerned. I'm lucky enough to have amassed no less than 14 PT vinyl releases, and those 4 are my faves, along with Wilson's Raven. SW will go down in musical history as one of the torch-bearers of Prog-Rock........and beyond........

Same for me too. In Absentia is their best album imo. Deadwing second and FOABP third.
