I've acquired many Zappa albums albums over the past...month or so. I was wondering if this is a good CD to purchase. So, in short:

Is this a good buy??

Thanks for the help.

Depends on whether you like Zappa's more humourous efforts such as 'Fillmore East 1971'  from the same era; I don't like '200 Motels' much as it doesn't feature much in the way of musicianship what I recall, and is mainly juvenile jokes with a vaudeville flavour.

"200 Motels" makes more sense after you have seen the movie. Yes, there is a movie by that name. Zappa appears as himself, but he is also being doubled by, of all people, Ringo Starr!

Yeah, I saw the pictures of the film in the CD booklet- the Ringo thing was genius, and I think it also has Keith Moon as a nun!

both film and record are awful and make no sense. A bunch  of short sketchs and stupid gags.

Zappa is a genius of electric guitar but he dramatically failed to explore new territories! His approach in "dodecaphonism"  is dull as we can hear in 200 motels. His music has no soul! Soul needs introspection!
