Band formed back in March 2006, who have taken their time crafting their 5-track debut EP called 'Identity'.
From facebook: http://www.facebook.com/socionic "Socionic is a project conceived of the fundamental need for artistic expression combined with the adeptness and appreciation for musical composition. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains and The Deftones, the music emerges as a calculated release of passion and power blended with the diversity and detail of a crafted symphony. Achieving an elusive form of polar dichotomy, the sound seamlessly flows from brutal to beautiful, landing its genre bending classification somewhere between alternative, metal, and rock. Reflective of the diversity and contrast of the world in which we live, the art of the project is deep, dark, and sometimes difficult." The band is based in Los Angeles and they released their debut album 'Identity' in October 2012. As well as the arists mentioned above they also list Porcupine Tree, APC, Conjure One, Fear Factory & Clint Mansell amongst the artists they like. They seem to like keeping their own personal identities a secret, the three band members calling themselves 'ego', 'id', & 'super-ego', and they list their genres as Alternative, Metal, Rock, Progressive, Post-Industrial, the actual music seeming to reflect their assessment pretty well to my ears. https://soundcloud.com/#socionic (all songs available for streaming) http://www.myspace.com/socionic (just one track for streaming) http://www.facebook.com/socionic (link to open the 'Identity' EP on spotify, plus four of the five tracks for direct streaming) http://www.socionicband.com (the same four of the five tracks from 'Identity' can be streamed...links to band interviews etc) From 'Identity' EP: An earlier demo track: Not pure Prog Metal by any means, but wonderful music indeed. It may not go anywhere fast on here due to the non-prog influences that are weaved in amongst the more complex stuff, but it's great listening, and I make no apologies whatsoever for sharing it on here.
