Boston! They are often seen like one of the million commercial bands of the '70s but they invented AOR and they also had a perfect sound research, their early albums sound still better than many recent productions.

Got it in one - my favorite B in heavy rock is indeed the B3 organ by Hammond (especially when played, as in the photo, by Uriah Heep's Ken Hensley)

it's really not fair that Sabbath is there because I can't in good conscience vote for anyone else. Really though I really wanna say Blue Cheer. if there was no Sabbath I would be Blue Cheer all the way
