You are so self centered that you believe your perception of the world has to be universal, you criticize us for believing in our institutions and about the historical background that lead to them.

Ivan, 30 million people haven't agreed on what marriage is in your country. A few people that say that represent those 30 million have. And no, I'm not trying to make this into an argument because in the end I agree with some of what you have said in the last posts but I needed to say this. Because if that would be true, if what congress says and laws say are really what all people in a country say, my country of origin, for example, would be full of anti-freedom idiots, and I know that's not the case, but the few who control everything are like that.
Anyway, Al Qaeda is not an institution.
And I hate it anyway.
I don't believe all cultures have the same value.
I should shut up.

When this issue was going to be discussed in the Congress, there was National poll in charge of CPI, the results were:
- 71.5% against
- 21% in favor
- 7.5% don't answer
So you are right T not the 32'000,000, but 21'450,000 are against.
Lately, when transcendental issues are being discussed, we make national polls or plesbicitums.

T, lets be honest, Ecuador's government is a constitutional tyranny, because nobody voted for Correa to have almost unlimited powers and to go against freedom of expression.
I didn't voted for Humala in Perú, but I can't deny it's a democratic government.
Now, about hating.
When Shinning Path started to attack us, the Government reacted with hate, that was stupid, they grew to reach several thousands, when we left hatred behind and acted rationally, things were better and they are almost extinct.
Hatred clouds your vision.

I was speaking with God the other day. This is what he told me.
All religions are intrinsically wrong. All religious humans are innately inferior to all atheists, and their feelings are less important. Every Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Sikh, Taoist, and religious believer is a subhuman fool deserving of only derision and spite. These broken individuals do not deserve to be loved by anyone. They do nothing but destroy the world. Every Christian person is devoid of humanity and not deserving of happiness (including my mother). They are all fractured people that don't deserve the right to breathe. We should take 'em all out back and shoot 'em. The world would be a better place without feelings, emotions, beliefs, and candy bars.
Interestingly enough, God listens to a lot of Slayer.

It wouldn't be locked because of the subject matter but because of the quality (or lack thereof) of the debate.
It's not about free speech, it's about respect and the forum rules and guidelines about conduct.
Or I could remove Textbook and Iván from the debate...but if I do that I should also issue a warning, which I am actually loathe to do.
Keep it non-personal and civil and the thread will remain open.

But I do also think that it should NOT be the goverment's job to say who may get married or not.

If the child rights was the issue, it would be hard for anybody to have children.
