Topic: Happy 70th Birthday, John Lennon Posted: October 08 2010 at 23:45
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
John Lennon
10/9/1940 - 12/8/1980 - forever

Your music has meant so much to me, thank you. Especially the songs of Let it Be, Plastic Ono Band, and this little number.VIDEO

Admirable person.
I sometimes wonder what he would he if he lived 30-40 up until now.
There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Can you tell me where we're headin'?

Wow, wish I could be in NY tonight to feel the energy in the park. Gotta say I'm pretty surprised that this thread didn't get a few more hits of love from our music loving audience. I know its easy to be cynical these days since every day is somebodys anniversary of something day and these things are old hat. But if there was one person I figured might make people jot down some feelings, I thought it would be this one. Well I played a bunch of his stuff today and had a moment. Thanks Micah for posting it.

No problem, bro. I guess us few in the know about John's genius will just celebrate his legacy amongst ourselves.

I listened to Abbey Road this morning.
Rest in peace, Lennon.

I forgot to mention that my sister shares the birthdate, vintage '68.
I think I'll pop in Rubber Soul and drink a toast to John.

I totally got your meaning dude... Lennon had taken a leave for parenthood and was apparently getting his groove back on. Edited by Slartibartfast - October 09 2010 at 20:41
