Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – 5 May 2010 – Here at ProgRock Records we’ve gotten a lot of good submissions from bands that aren’t progressive, including projects from progressive rock artists.  Our solution was to form “The Record Label” as a new sister label that would have a variety of genre sub labels to cover Pop/Rock, Country and Adult Contemporary to start.

Kicking things off is a contemporary country album from Matt Cash http://www.therecordlabel.net/country-and-western/matt-cash/western-country/ , who is known for his work in Progressive circles working with Henning Pauly in Chain and Frameshift.  Another Henning Pauly cohort is Edward Heppenstall http://www.therecordlabel.net/pop-rock/edward-heppenstall/parts-that-hate-me/ whose voice and some of his music will remind you of Paul Carrack.  Henning produced this album and played many of the instruments.

Lizette von Panajot who is known from the Swedish prog band Spektrum has put out an industrial pop album.  The album is a cross between Nine Inch Nails and Alanis Morissette that you can check it out at http://www.therecordlabel.net/pop-rock/lizette/this-is/

Steve Morse is a six time Grammy nominated guitarist who is known for his work with the Dregs, Kansas Deep Purple.  His solo band has put out a unique new project entitled Angelfire with phenom vocalist Sarah Spencer that you can read about Angelfire http://www.therecordlabel.net/adult-contemporary/angelfire/anglefire/

The Record Label will be selling all their projects for just $15.95 per CD.  There will also be scaling discounts based on quantity ranging from 5% to 20%, credit cards and PayPal are accepted.  Releases will be available worldwide at traditional retail outlets and your favorite online resellers. Most titles are currently available.  You can sign up for our newsletter at http://www.therecordlabel.net/newsletter/

About The Record Label

Originally founded in 2005 as an outgrowth of ProgRock Records, The Record Label is oriented towards releasing non-progressive music such as Pop/Rock, Country and Adult Contemporary.  Re-launched in 2010 with an improved web site and distribution with major name releases.
