This is my first post so I'm really just saying hello from sunny Australia. I've been lurking for a while, reading a lot of other peoples opinions and have just got around to registering today so that perhaps you can hear some of mine! Don't worry - I'm not too opinionated.
For the record I'm in my mid 40s and work as a doctor in a small outback town. (I've got nothing to do with that other Dr Phil on the TV) I've been listening to Prog since the mid 1970s. I grew up in the UK with bands such as Genesis and Yes, then progressed on to Neo Prog (Marillion, IQ, Pendragon etc.). These days my tastes are a bit more diverse (really enjoyed the recent Maudlin of the Well album) but at the end of the day I guess I'm still a Neo and Symphonic fan above all else.
Going to see Dream Theater next weekend in Sydney - and I was lucky enough to get the last meet and greet package!
The Avatar was chosen because my son plays a Maton MS500 guitar. I can play a few chords, but my musical skills are very limited.

Welcome from Belgium where at last the sun comes out during these rainy autumn days.

Nice avatar, even if you're not really a guitar player yourself. Enjoy your stay at PA!

Many thanks!
I've never actually been to Belguim, although I used to go fishing in the Netherlands when I was at University back in the 1980s, and I've still got several friends there.

Joel, thank you for your wishes.
Yes, I think a bit more Australian representation would be useful on this site, mostly for publicizing tours, events etc. The more people are looking out for events (such as Porcupine Tree coming to Australia in Early February 2010) the less likely we are to miss things.
