I saw yesterday in a big Parisian record shop FNAC a DVD release of 200 Motels (Zone2). It was on novelty exposure and I stopped for a couple of minutes to look at the screen....even so a major retailer like the FNAC sells it "legally"  it is for sure not an official digital remaster but a cheap VHS to DVD master, looks  worse then my VHS copy. It's  not released by MGM, who released the original movie but by some obscure label who releases a lot of cheap concert DVD's in Europe these times. Until wating for a real digital remaster and if you don't own one of these prehistoric VHS recorders go for it...  it's a great movie!!

Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear
"Hey there! Rotter's Club!
Explain the meaning of this song and share it"

Unhappy I got excited when I saw the name of this thread, only to have my hopes crushed. MGM really does need to re-release 200 Motels on DVD, but I have read that the original master tape for the film no longer exists...
If that's true, we may never see an "official" DVD release!
