I think it would be nice to incorporate a new option:
review e-mail notification.
If someone wants to learn something about a certain (obscure) band and/or album, (s)he will be dissapointed to find that an album is not reviewed or rated yet. However, any album can be reviewed any time in the near future, right? It could happen tomorrow or in a half year.
With e-mail notification for review of an album we would:
1) encourage other to review albums
2) share the knowledge in a more effective way
3) promote a particular artist, album and progressive rock in general
4) encourage people to visit more often/come back on the PA web site.
Just a thought...

Seems like a very good thought to me...I'd certainly use the feature since I would forget about checking the bands page after a couple of days....

Yes, not a bad idea but there are two issues that would ahev to be worked out:
1. If an email is sent for every review uploaded, we would be getting more than 50 emails a day... Nobody wants that.....I guess.... 
2. If we sent, say, a weekly email with all the new reviews, a) who will take care of such a tremendous task? b) how many reviews are posted weekly? I guess more than 350.... It would be quite an enormous and difficult list to follow....
The idea (if I understood right... maybe I'm talking about something completely different ) is good... just the actual realization of the idea is quite a challenge. |

Reading the original post again, I guess maybe the suggestion goes in the way of: if you're a visitor or a member and want to get news about new reviews, check a box or something in your profile... isn't it? That could certainly work.... I don't know how easy it would be, but maybe...

Every review uploaded? No way! Notifications will be only for entries that you have selected on PA website. Something like tick option "notify me if someone reviews this album".

nice idea.... but in the relative short time I've been here... so many good ideas have just withered and died. That takes time to implement.... and involvement from the very top. Last time I checked... he's on the beach somewhere counting google hits hahhaha.

Every review uploaded? No way! Notifications will be only for entries that you have selected on PA website. Something like tick option "notify me if someone reviews this album".

yes, that's what I thought (see next post )... It's a great idea that should demand some work, but no doubt it would be a great addition...
