Philippe Did you mean Ertlif instead of Eiliff? If so,Ertlif's eponymous album is superb. Klaus Schulze influenced, with loads of mellotron and synths. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Mellotron Edited by Man Erg |

I owned a few Krokodil albums in my youth, but I don´t think I would listen to them today.

Eiliff is Swiss?- I thought as they are listed in a number of krautrock reference books that they were German
But what about Island? http://www.lasercd.com/merchant/lasercd/lasersedge.asp#islan d I was introduced to their reissued 1977 recording Pictures, as being the album Van Der Graaf would have recorded if they had stayed together - make of that what you will, but IMHO it is a good record. I also never heard any band from this list. I say more, I now very few about Swiss Prog Scene, except one album of the band named Galaad (don't substitute with British Galahad :)) - I have one (1992, forgot its French name :() album of them, and it's good. I think it's especially for those who love Marillion 83-88, Grey Lady Down, Pendragon, Arena - I mean the band plays "mainstreamish", keyboard-guitar oriented NeoProgressive, but of really good quality, with good taste and sence of beauty, "juicy" keyboard and guitar solos... (Only some harder than the bands I mentioned above).

Brainticket are excellent, 'Cottonwoodhill' is amazingly psychedelic and chaotic. Dawn Muir's tripped out vocals are quite overwhelming. I love it! 'Psychonaut' is less experimental but still brilliant. Ive yet to hear their album 'Celestial Dream' I have to admit though that ive never heard any of the other bands mentioned.

Brainticket.Cottonwoodhill and Celestial Ocean are excellent albums. Eiliff(Swiss?) come a close second. I also liked Tea (Mark Storace).First two albums produced by Deiter Dierks, but they turned into the awful Krokus.I remember picking up Eiliff's Girlrls (sic) album from a 'cut-out' bin when I was @ 14 and having to hide it from my parents because of the sleeve.(2 hookers at a window.) Pretty tame now. I never liked Toad.A bit too 'boogie/blues-Status Quoish.' Edited by Man Erg |

Despite that the swiss prog scene is very closed to the german Kraut/ prog scene, it would be interesting to know what are your feelings about notorious bands as Brainticket..and less known as Toad... waiting for your answers! |
