Only admins have that ability.

You can start a topic but you cannot post in there, or the thread is started in a different forum and moved to the How Do I section.

I've asked Tony to have a look. I thought it was open to all.

Because you can ask any question and we will answer it if we can.

When I first started this idea,I wanted to avoid the person asking the question being ridiculed. So I blocked replies from anyone but admins.
If you saw replies to a couple of questions that are now in this section but were originally posted in the DNRTM section you would agree with that tactic 100%

I am quite happy to try and obtain answers to any questions, not just forum related queries.

Yes, the thread was moved to that How Do section. But why this should be a problem?

I think you should let people reply but delete any non-conforming posts in that section (I know I'm guilty of making fun of people's questions-the burning cd thread comes to mind...) and warn repeat offenders.  I think if you make it clear that the how to section is strictly for questions and serious answers that should take care of the problem, and if people abuse the privilege to post there they should be sanctioned.  And come on Tony you've never met a post you didn't feel like deleting anyway.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

How about I open it up for a couple of weeks to see how it goes.

Piss-takers will be warned.
