Hendrix help to record the Album, freat band!, Don Gallucci was only 19 years old!!

One of my old favorites ...had this in college on vinyl of course in 1971....came out in 69.

Still have it and on cd as well.

I think Hendrix and Grace Slick (interested in the 20/20 sound claims) watched as some of it was recorded in the studio but I was not aware they had any hand in the writing or recording process.

Jon Anderson has expressed that the album did indeed influence YES.

Psychedelic rock based on what I've heard. Maybe more prog sounding (what came to be known as prog later)than most bands of the era but only proto prog at best. It certainly didn't start prog rock all by itself.

I wish some would stop using the word "true" to describe music. "True metal", "true prog", "true sound", what does it even mean? Was it all false or fake before it was "true"? LOL

Pat Metheny is great and he did an interview with Beato yesterday for about 1.5 hours. Highly recommended. It's as if both men want to promote each other as Rick has 2.5 million followers on YouTube and Pat has a Hugh tour in a few weeks. Symbiosis works in nature.

there is another album released by a band with the same name. Lifted this straight from Amazon:

I realise this is not the same band mentioned by the OP but can't seem to find anything else.

As far as 1968 , I think there were quite a few bands going that were creating Prog. The Nice - Ars Longa Vita Brevis was known to be influential to Yes and Genesis. I wonder if Touch were doing side long pieces using jazz and classical Bach compositional styles by any chance?
