I notice they are on the top line of 'POPULAR ARTISTS (TOP 50, LAST 24H)' on the PA home page but I can't find any recent news on the website or FB page.

Nah they tend to disappear for long periods of time and drop a masterpiece every now and then. Last time we heard from them was all traps on earth in 2018, so I figure it’ll be a while.

I just wonder what it was that made them appear on the Top 50, Last 24H list. They are still there now.

I believe all it takes to be on that list is people clicking on the band name. The more clicks, the higher the band goes on the list.

I'm sure you are right. But I wonder what it was that made the people click on Änglagård enough to make that happen. It's usually the announcement of a new album or tour ... My fingers are crossed!

I haven't heard anything lately. According to wikipedia they are still considered active though. By the way, if you ever get a chance to see them live definitely do so. I've seen them live three times(all at prog festivals) and they were great all three times.

I have yet to see them live, but I have had the pleasure of meeting three of the members. When I turned 40 (on my birthday in 2010) a friend arranged for Anna, Thomas and Tord to meet me at a bar in Stockholm. They even presented me with a signed copy of Epilog. It's a story I will tell my grand children if I get any....that like Prog.

Anyway, they are back on the PA top list again. I wonder if something is a-foot in the world of Änglagård.

Hi,
I don't know what to say ... except that I am always sad when I see things like this. No doubt the band is probably frustrated and likely not selling enough to make a living and the folks have to work somewhere else ... and it usually takes away from the music and its work. There is one other example, of a lady that has done a lot of work, and she is also an artist ... and it was/is also obvious when she said that she was stopping for a while and go back to school ... you can look at this two ways ... school provides more material to help her create ... or the life of a musician is next to the worst thing ... specially if you are a woman leading a group and writing almost all the material. It's easy to say that they are not good enough ... and some folks here really like them, and the others go back to their JT and Genesis, or Yes. What many of these folks don't see, sometimes, is that it is hurting the musicians that keep the flame alive ... who are not getting the proper chance because we want to keep the almost blind and dead dog alive ... well, Mozart is still alive ... so I guess that is OK ... but in the end, a lot of great music gets left behind, and forgotten. But that woman "quitting" to go back to school? I am already thinking that we need to get more folks doing that so that "progressive" this and that dies over night ... and becomes something that lasted 45 years and then died a sad death thrown into a hole in the ground with hundreds of other bodies. We need the music, folks ... not just the top 5!

Hi, Not at all ... but I don't like to see progressive bands, and good ones at that, feel like they have to give up ... because too many of us fans are focusing on the wrong thing, Steve. My joke is, might as well kill it all, to get it over with, if we're going to ignore the other bands keeping the flame alive!

Sounds like the making of a poll........... "Prog" is a moniker that is being thrown around again, but not for the reasons we would like it to be mentioned. |

Exactly. YOu can click on any band hundreds of times and it will show up on the top of the list. I did this once just to see if it's possible. So nobody should believe that these rankings are necessarily representative of public consensus.

One album every 10-20 years if we are lucky. All Traps On Earth - A Drop Of Light is still a special album to me so I don't expect this sort of thing to happen that often.
