Hello. My band Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate and London Prog Gigs are co-hosting a charity prog mini-festival in London on 6 July 2019. https://www.facebook.com/events/265719237427414/ Any help spreading awareness of this event would be greatly appreciated. Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate and friends in association with London Prog Gigs present a one day festival of progressive music at the Fiddler's Elbow - Camden, London (UK), with profits to be donated to the World Land Trust.
The World Land Trust buys threatened rainforest, to protect in trust, to stop them getting chopped down. Trees make oxygen, without which breathing is a bit pointless. So protecting the trees is good for the wildlife, and good for us staying alive. A win-win really. We are aiming to be able to raise enough to protect at least an acre. The event will showcase the diversity of modern progressive rock and related genres. Acts include - Axiom - prog rock/metal instrumental trio from Birmingham. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59_dB8KkXE4 Birks and Kroon - contemporary classical chamber prog featuring Amy Birks, lead singer of Prog magazine award winning The Beatrix Players and Swedish violinist Maria Kroon. https://www.birksandkroon.com Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate - fusing alt/prog-rock and electronic elements with science and science fiction www.hatsoffgentlemen.com tAngerinecAt - Anglo-Ukranian blend of punk/electronica/industrial. Featuring rock hurdy-gurdy https://www.tangerinecat.net/ The Wood Demons - prog rock infused with pastoral folk-rock https://thewooddemons.bandcamp.com/ BAFTA nominated live rock film-maker Dick Carruthers (director of Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day in conversation (sta) Mardhys - a six piece multi-cultural prog-folk band under the leadership of songwriter and front woman Melatti. www.mardhys.co.uk SINKA - an alternative rock trio with tight riffs and soaring vocals, reminding me of something between Jeff Buckley and Muse. https://www.facebook.com/Sinkaband Ending with a prog-infused disco. (sta - subject to availability) Accompanied children are welcome until 6pm. Due to licensing requirements the venue is 18+ after 6pm Tickets £12 (minimum donation) https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/prog-the-forest-prog-rock-charity-festival-raising-funds-for-the-world-land-trust-tickets-54043515610 With thanks to our media partners including - The Prog Mill, Progilla Radio, The Prog And Rock Show (Beatroute Radio), Gigride |
