I don't know if there is enough to fill a whole TV programme, but next monday Dec 28th on the French-speaking TV RTBF 2 at 20h05 local time, Marc Ysaye (director of Belgium's only lassic Rock radio station called Classic 21 and also Machiavel drummer) a story of Floyd's relation with the country, filled with rare pictures, archives and documents. Apparently, this will be centered around the years 68/69 - claiming that Gilmour's first Floyd appearance ( I suppose they mean without Barrett) happened here.
Hopefully, you'll be able to view it in podcast here: http://www.rtbf.be/livecenter/live_musique-et-concerts?pid=71 The previous evening, he will apparently air some 1969 Amougies Festival extracts (nothing you won't have seen/heard on YT, most likely) where Zappa jammed with Floyd... Zappa was also the festival's stage announcer, apparently. and there is a six-months webradio project dedicated to the band coming up. Edited by Sean Trane - December 24 2015 at 04:23 |
