Topic: Best Song from Quadrophenia Posted: May 25 2014 at 06:51 |
should've done this for its 40th anniversary several months back, but after the Tommy poll, i might as well do the same thing with Quadrophenia, which MANY people prefer over Tommy (and Who's Next for crying out loud!!!). so, out of all the songs, which is the best in your opinion? and again, because i don't know how to do it, i shall let you move this to the proto-prog lounge.

I went for "Doctor Jimmy" but am equally fond of "Bell Boy".

I'm One, which captures the personality of Jimmy and his peers so precisely. The live acoustic version of The Secret Policeman's Ball was incredible.

The Real Me, Punk, 5:15 , and Love Reign are all great songs but I have always liked Tommy better.
The Mods vs the Punk thing just never appealed to me .

So many great songs, but "Love, Reign O'er Me" is majestically epic. Special shout out for "Bell Boy".

Erm, it was mods v rockers. The punks came in about 12 years later.

Just incredible that bursting energy of The Rock and Quadrophenia - by far the BEST instrumental intros from The Who ! The rest of the album just OK for me except Love, Reign O'er Me, which I also enjoy.

Was tempted for Love Reign O Me, but as it's a bit of a landslide I'll go 5.15.
