That's what much of my time on here is for: searching for a new epic. Doesn't even have to be 20 minutes long. Just needs transitions, dynamic, and complexity (and preferably, to be longer than 10 or 12 minutes). Here are my favorite songs to give an idea of what I'm generally looking for:
1. "Supper's Ready" Genesis 2. "Thick as a Brick" Jethro Tull 3. "Duel with the Devil" Transatlantic 4. "Tarkus" Emerson, Lake, and Palmer 5. "The Gates of Delirium" Yes 6. "Stardust We Are" IQ 7. "A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers" Van der Graaf Generator 8. "Octavarium" Dream Theater 9. "Ommadawn" Mike Oldfield 10. "Al of the Above" Transatlantic My latest findings that are AWESOME and will also help give an idea of what I might be looking for: "Mei" by Echolyn, "Milliontown" by Frost*, "Visions" by Haken, "The Province" by IQ, "Pulsar" by Cast, "Zarathustra" by Museo Rosenbach. The list goes on. If you've a total epic that you want others to hear or just want to declare your admiration for, then voice it!!

Suppers Ready - Genesis
Close to the edge - Yes The revealing science of God - Yes The Fountain of Lamneth - Rush Ommadawn Part 1 - Mike Oldfield Rubycon part 1 - Tangerine Dream Harvest of Souls - IQ The hazards of Love - The Decemberists (does that count as an epic or just a suite of songs with a few proggy reprises?) There's probably more. Minds gone blank. Again... |

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Indeed strange my friend and I'm so happy you do. The reissue of the album has a lot of nosense in it, but I mainly focus on the two epics.
They were about the age of 16 when they recorded it, that puzzles me even more. A 5 stars album for me. Enjoy! |

Amarok - Mike Oldfield
First Light - Shadow Gallery Many more great ones out there from The Flower Kings, like The Truth Will Set You Free, Numbers or Devil's Playground. No Spock's Beard or Neal Morse solo stuff mentioned yet, I'd throw in The Great Nothing and The Water (SB) with The Door (NM) That's all that instantly pop into mind which haven't been mentioned yet. By the way, a great list in the first post ![]() |

Rogue by Discipline. Bar none my favorite epic over 20 minutes, except maybe VDGG's Plague of Lighthouse Keepers.

"The Great Nothing" is fantastic, and I just recently discovered "The Door" which is awesome!! I'm glad you mentioned Neal Morse. He's honestly my favorite figure in Prog. Great guy ![]() Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! With all these songs to look up, it looks like I have a life today.

Lots I love, but since you have so many to check out anyway and I can't say these would appeal (fit well) anyway:
Geinoh Yamashirogumi - "Osorezan" Magma - Retropspetiw I-II "Theusz Hamtaahk" Soesn't fit that well. A suite, but... Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother suite - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlDx9s-zJMM (my fave thing PF worked on, though there is another version I like more than this) Hyper text links are to the the first parts of the split uploads, but the rest is on youtube. Caravan's 9 Feet Underground is pretty excellent. Edited by Logan - July 09 2013 at 12:45 |

Feel free to throw anything out there. I already know a bunch of people's suggestions (Atom Heart Mother and Nine Feet from yours). I definitely wouldn't mind if this took me a few days or weeks. I don't get incredibly busy and love spending time on things like this. It's a hobby.
