i feal they sort of apeal to the same fans, both are esoteric and made beautifull music in the 80s full of expremitation yet where also able to be catchy and fun at times, also i doo believe they gravitated towards eachother in the 80s, did they collaborate at any time ??
yes they did this is solo Gabriel, forgett anyhting about Genesis focus solaly on his solo work |

Peter Gabriel is probably the best pop artist I ever heard in my life. He's got a really unique voice. I don't quite like Kate Bush, I find her a bit annoying.

Yes, I think they collaborated at one point, Chris, but I'm not sure.
Edit: "Over the years, Gabriel has collaborated with singer Kate Bush several times; Bush provided backing vocals for Gabriel's "Games Without Frontiers" and "No Self Control" in 1980, and female lead vocal for "Don't Give Up" (a Top 10 hit in the UK) in 1986, and Gabriel appeared on her television special. Their duet of Roy Harper's "Another Day" was discussed for release as a single, but never appeared."

Speaking as a fan of both I like Kate's commercially successful songs more than Peter's.

I respect Kate as an artists but do not enjoy her music a great deal. Peter on the other hand, well . . .

The best songs Kate Bush ever sang were as back-up to Peter Gabriel. Jeux sans frontières!

Peter, although Kate is much nicer and has a much pleasant voice.
Nevertheless, Peter's solo work was always closer to Prog than Pop, Kate's work vice versa.

I'm not really much a solo Gabriel fan, but I have huge admiration for Kate Bush. Alongside Sandy Denny in the Folk world, I think she is the other finest female musical artist that this country has ever produced :

Don't get me wrong, I have huge respect for PG, it's just that a lot of his solo work just doesn't do that much for me personally. I do love Passion though. Amazing album. Also, his work in helping World Music is to be hugely admired.
