if this cut is from a Genesis bootleg of studio outtakes from '71, there are several problems; first, there are two people singing (or one singer double-tracking himself) who, as Horizons points out, sound almost nothing like Gabriel or Collins. Second, the guitar, though Hackett-like at times, becomes less so as the piece progresses. I suppose it could be Genesis experimenting but it's just as likely a band imitating Genesis imitating the Beatles.

Sounds a bit like 'Harold the Barrel'. Maybe it's someone else from the band instead of Gabriel and Collins singing. Or it could have been Gabriel or Collins with their voices sped up on tape.

That is many things, for one a potential Beatles tribute band, but it most certainly not Genesis. Don't forget, Banks compiled a pile of outtakes & demos for the first boxset.

It says its from 1971, wasn't Genesis was going through some lineup changes around that time? Does anyone know if Anthony Phillips or John Mayhew ever did any singing, it could be one of them. It would be interesting to find out who this really is and if it has anything to do with Genesis.
