I grew up with Love Me Do and it still makes me happy.

My Generation. I'm not sure the pairing is fair to the Beatles tune, though.

Wow that's a rather subdued version of My Generation, to say the least LOL

I haven't actually listened to that song in so long. The bass part is fantastic.

And I did vote for it. But with a more energetic, destructive Who in mind.

I'm not too into either song, in this case. Might as well be Love Me Do because it gets stuck in my head for longer durations.

My Generation by far.
Crushed like a rose in the riverflow.

The Beatles are not sacred cows or anything for me, but I'll choose pretty much any of their song over any by The Who absolutely all the time. Yes, even all the poppy ones. I'd rather listen to All My Loving than one session of Quadrophenia or Who's Next.

Love Me Do is quite nice but I can't really be bothered with any Beatles stuff pre about 1965. Ticket To Ride (feb 65) is probably the earliest song by them that I truly love. The Who along with The Kinks and a few others transformed the British rock n roll scene in the sixties. These were bands with attitude and My Generation is the song of that time. Nothing coming out of this country had been done like that before and suddenly The Beatles were forced to up their game.
