The band is fronted by string musician Becki Clark, who provides female vocals which are backed by the male vocals of guitarist David Stanton. The underlying music can be categorised as dark and atmospheric, combining lighter elements (such as clean electric guitars, classical stringed instruments and keyboards) with fast, heavily distorted riffs and powerful drums more commonly associated with heavy metal music. Although many of the band's lyrics contain references to religion, they do not consider themselves a religious band."
I enjoy this band's music immensely - they have been around since 1998, though with several line-up changes since then, have had a full length album out since 2005 ("The Failing Light"), are currently in the process of recording their second, & their website is: http://www.seasons-end.com/, (myspace: http://www.myspace.com/seasonsend). Their first album may not quite have sufficient prog content for the purists on here - female fronted symphonic/goth metal bands tend not to find favour on the whole, but a second album is on the way with a promise of much more in the way of "progginess". The bass player these days with seasons End is Mike Bridge, who now has his own solo project called Acid Empire about to come to fruition (album release due 3rd Oct 2011). They too are being evaluated on here for prog metal (see post: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=81587). Mike wasn't in Season's End when their first album was recorded, and it is undoubtedly his prog influence that has played a big part in shaping their change in direction for the second album which is now in preparation. Despite this, their first release, "The Failing Light" had a fairly positive review in The Dutch Progressive Rock Page (DPRP) "Prog Metal Special" (2004: Vol 65), despite the review copy being an early release version of the album http://www.dprp.net/reviews/200465.html#seasonsend, so there may be an outside chance even based on this first outing. "Despite being entirely self financed on it’s initial release last Summer, The 
Failing Light was met with universal critical acclaim in the British rock press 
with Metal Hammer hailing the band as “new heroes for the British Goth 
movement”. This was followed by an immensely successful UK tour culminating in a
