We really should have this somewhere besides buried in the FAQs, people seem to still be confused about this a lot.
 
People were making alts to vote in polls, so you can't vote until you make enough posts to become a Groupie. I am pretty sure it is 30 posts, but I can't remember (it's definitely not 100 like the FAQ says, that is for Senior).

I think it is 40, but I'm not sure.

Ah yes, it is 40. This guy somehow beat the system and got it at 39, and he's one of the first results when sorting my group membership (which, incidentally, is completely broken in terms of usefulness, but I am probably the first person to use it in years so it doesn't matter) and that threw me off
 
Also, while looking for that I discovered we have 20,454 members with 0 posts. That's 59% of the total members. And 32,031 never made it to Groupie, which is 92.9% of the total users. That seems like a lot.
