If a first person furnishes all of the ideas to make an invention and a second person employs the first person or furnishes the money for building and testing the invention, should the patent application be filed by the first and second persons jointly?

I must admit Ebay is very much the way he describes it in the song. Don't take it too seriously; just enjoy! btw I actually love 'Star Wars'. A quick spin on this question and we can get it back to PA territory.

    New Question:

If a first person has a musical idea but is not a musician and they write all the lyrics for a song and then works with a musician to help realize the musical elements via humming, whistling or off key singing:

1 - Does the musician warrant credit and a cut of royalties
    2 - Who's name goes first

In the case of Beatles - If Paul writes lyrics, John the music, it was Lennon and MacCartney everytime.

I the Case of Simon and Garfunkel, they both wrote but it was always Simon first as he worte most of the songs.

In the case of any musician who contributes to the song, his her name must go on record and gets the royalties.

If I write lyrics I want my name on that song or i will sue your keysters off!

But it was Lennon/McCartney every time regardless of who wrote the song.

Same with The Stranglers and later Queen. Whoever wrote it, it was credited to The Stranglers or Queen. Saved arguments over royalties.

In the case of Lennon/McCartney they just liked the idea of a songwriting partnership. They thought it looked anhd sounded better...they fancied themselves like Rogers/Hammerstein or something. They were right.

Generally Lennon sang his songs and McCartney his. Some songs (Like A Day In The Life) were two songs by each put together.
