As far as I can judge the last discussions about Magnum are over 4 years old, with also not too many replies. So I will allow myself to ask again:
Does anybody here like Magnun, do they have any right to be in PA, what  Magnum albums receive a thumbs up by the good people who frequent those forums?

The Magnum Opus Poll
Posted: 20 April 2010 at 20:24
I searched for a similar poll, and didn't find one. Then I made a mistake trying to make this poll earlier, and deleted that one. BUT! Here is the final poll, as originally intended. One "song" per artist, of these that I consider absolutely essential prog magnum opi. Of course, there will be some debate as to which should have been included or not, but I will add no "other" option, kindly just tell me in your posts. I think and hope that this is an interesting poll indeed.

I recommend checking out Magnum, rocking for 30 years already but almost unknown in the US. Here is my article: www.associatedcontent.com/article/2857208/top_songs_by_progressive_rock_band.html
can you read my article and maybe try some of the tracks I mention there? Cool. Magnum and Tull fan! Rod View Post

Favourite Magnum Album of the '00

I'm just wondering, cause IMO they are all three very good but if I have to vote, I would vote for Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow

The Magnum Opus Poll has unfortunately  nothing to do with Magnun. Maybe we should ask what is Magnum's Magnum Opus?Wink

Not sure why they are in PA, they are more hard-rock/AOR-related than anything else.

I would recommend 'wings of heaven', a decent AOR album.

I think they are on the Prog side of Symphonic Heavy Rock, so Prog-related suits them fine.

Good. Now we not only will fight about recently added bands but also about bands added a century ago.

By the way, I really want to protest the addition of radiohead...

LOL  please ask Bob Catley for that ... I like the title song from 'Brand New Morning' very much btw  ... and his unique voice of course ... but concerning prog standards I agree that their songs are just related at best ...
