   Only a partial note on this second day. New shoes have been killing my feet on my UK excursion, and tonite it got so painful that I had to call it a night way too early. My apologies to Unitopia for leaving before they finished, and my loss obviously for missing Agents of Mercy and Karmakanic.

Still, I caught Haken, who gave a good and tight show with their blend of prog metal.  well performed and engaging concert I believe gave them a few new supporters. Big name potential spotted for this act, it will be interesting to see if they manage to evolve into one. They have the talent needed.

Revived old-timers Ark added theatrical elements to their performance, and many old progheads apprecited seeig a lead vocalist with mask, make-up and a fair number of costume changes. The band is tighter than the proverbial duck's ass as well, and gave a good and entertaining go with their brand of Neo. Quality act.

Unitopia were breathtaking as always, a splendid concert from start till end - I presume the 10 or so minutes I missed were as goog as the rest. Anyone with an interest in what I often like to call art pop should really check out this fine act from down under. Best of the festival so far for me - I do suspect that the double bill following them was even better, which I'll most likely be told about in detail tomorrow (i.e. you should have been there).

	oh Olav - you've missed Karmakanic? Sorry to read that ... live they are soooo great some comments about Multifuse (opener on sunday?) are welcome btw

	Sorry to hear about the shoes problem. I think I might have been the only one in the ahll that wasnt impressed by Unitopia. They play well but the music is too fractured and there are several bands that do the same kind of thing much better, but as I said, I was definitely in the minority with this view. Karmakanic/Agents of Mercy were very good, both being the exact same band. I particularly liked the former with their jazzier tinged form of Symphonic Prog. AoM were good but I couldnt help feeling like I was listening to The Flower Kings light, minus the killer songs like I Am the Sun and Silent Inferno. The lead singer was a great performer but it was quite funny to find that half the people in the hall werent at all sure about his gender for about 20 minutes!

	Hello all, Day two.... Arrived half way through Unitopia. I liked their sound but the vocalist was obviously having problems with his throat & if he felt like i felt with this Flu bug going round then i have every sympathy.. i don't know that i would listen to/ buy their CD's but i enjoyed the more 'eclectic' sound and their obvious environmental twist (but then i guess i'm a bit of an old hippie). I enjoyed Karmachanic more than Agents of fortune- i found the first set more exciting & varied whereas the second set was more (aptly put) 'flower kings lite'. I thought the singer was great though and smirk at the fact that i remember a time when looking like Robert Plant was cool and not a cause for (as my wife put it) 'balding middle aged blokes to huff and puff about 'ere is that a bloke or a bird or what?' Again left feeling very tired but feeling that i'd enjoyed some good music.

	Hey frends, I missed Haken from buying some kickass stuff at the marketplace in Gloucester and the merchant's clumsy fingers taking too long with my change, and thus me missing the bus. Ark and Unitopia were both surprisingly good (btw I say surprisingly only because I had never heard them before, and despite all I have learnt in recent years, I still inherently distrust all modern prog bands until proven innocent); I have to say I was touched to hear a whole hallful joining for "We are, we are, all parts of the whole." I was impressed by both and have been moved to check out their albumz. Karmakanic is, like, my love, man, so they could do no wrong, BUT even though it's unfair to say this, since they were to continue as Agents of Mercy, I would have loved for them to play a bit longer. They started with Send a Message From the Heart, also played a new one (pretty heavy, very cool), Where the Earth Meets the Sky, Eternally and I don't remember what else. By this time my feet also were very sore but Agents of Mercy made me forget this minor mishap. I even went through the male/female confusion long ago so could concentrate on other aspex of the set. ;) In fact in all cases I prefer Karmakanic to Flower Kings or Agents of Mercy, so tonite was not an exception, but the performance itself was very good. Yeah, they seemed in good form, and were mesmerisin' for the two sets. In particular, Goran's voice sounded great, and the drummer was totally awesome. I left with a sunshine in my stomach. The end.
	Stop me from dreaming? Okay :-(
