I flagged this up some days ago but it got buried elsewhere without comment but worth resurrecting. I've long liked the sound of Les Structures Sonore (very much of the 60's avant garde, but largely sunk from view) although recordings have been extremely elusive. However, checking out You Tube last month found some recordings made by a newer generation of musicians following in the footsteps of LSS's Lasry Baschet:
Interesting what you can produce on 'new' non-electronic instruments (let's be honest, probably patented in the 50's, and possibly the instrument shown is several removes away from the 18th century glass harmonica). Comments, especially about other music generated on non-traditional forms of instruments. Edited by Dick Heath - August 12 2010 at 05:43 |
