I was very surprised to find that the obscure early 70s band ‘’Goliath’’ aren’t here. I think they are definitely progressive enough to warrant inclusion in this site.

Here’s a short bio of them:

''Goliath were a short-lived but very promising UK band who were fronted by a lady singer called Linda Rothwell. The other members were Eric Eastman on drums & percussion, Joe Rosbotham on tenor sax & flute, Malcolm Grundy on guitar and John Williamson on bass. Their music had elements of rock, folk and blues, as well as an Eastern touch. They made only one album, released in 1970 on the CBS label. A band with fantastic potential, they faded into obscurity, probably around the early 70's."

And here are some samples of their music from YouTube:

I think they be a nice addition to the siteThumbs Up

Great stuff! Nice eclectic mix of psychedelia, jazz and pastoral flutes, but with a strong late 60s / early 70s mainstream feel --> therefore Crossover is where I'd see this band in. I'll ask the team for an evaluation! Thumbs Up

Clap Hopefully this will lead to them getting more exposure. They are one of those long forgotten bands that released one great album and then sunk without a trace.

I'm guessing they were rejected for inclusion?

Seems like the suggestion went unnoticed, I'll bump it for the Crossover Team.

^ The votes are still inconclusive as we have one yes, one no vote due to lack of material provided and one unsure with another vote pending.

If you could share any links to these guys it would be great over and above the YT material

The lead singer has a Youtube profile:

I'm not sure what else I could find. They are very obscure so there's not much on the net about them.

'69-'70  there were three different Goliath bands which put out lps.

Yours (with the female vocalist & ugly big butt cover) was UK proto and sounded of Affinity,Room,Savarin...

The other two were US.

The US( one with the peagreen cover and band with purple faces) also was organ-dominant and with bluesrock, but whereas the UK  had jazz going, the US had soul & David Clayton Thomas (urk!) moves.
