Sun Ra, The Next Step

 

I know there have been other threads for Sun Ra recommendations, and I might have even started one of those as well, but I'm here wondering where should I go next in my Sun Ra journey. At least, I think I have all the basics down....

I'm certainly much more intereted in the free-jazz/avant-garde side of Sun Ra, even though Angels And Demons...was quite excellent with all of its big band jazzness. So where should I go next? Still quite a discog remaining and rather than take what would essentially be a blind chance I figured I'd ask the experts. So...suggestions?

 

 

Excellent. Nuits seems to need to go to the top of the list. And I found samples from IATEOTW...VERY enjoyable. Definitely going to track that one down.

 

Listened to some samples from Lanquidity as well...not really my type of thing. Though, very intereting to hear the Ra in that context.
