I was wondering who out there might be a fan of the fifties tv series Ramar Of The Jungle, starring the late Jon Hall? I was not born until the early sixties, and did not discover it until about a year ago, when i came across a partial set on DVD.
For those who do not know, it is the story of a white doctor "Ramar" which translates as "white medicine man"-Dr. Tom Reynolds (played by Jon Hall), his associate Prof. Howard Ogden(played by Ray Montgomery) and their native guide Willy-Willy, and their adventures in Africa.
The real star of the show is (as i am sure you have guessed) Dr. Reynolds-Hall is the perfect type of actor to play such a role, of a doctor. Interspersed throughout the episodes is actual footage of real African animals in their natural habitat.
hard to find a complete set, but it would be worth it!
I would love to hear other people's impressions-
