Is this progressive tech extreme metal or is it just Death Metal like they say.

The very aim of the band is in Akerfeldt's own words during an interview to create "...pure death metal." If Bloodbath creates anything that isn't strictly death metal they failed and it was totally accidental.
 
Does it sounds progressive to you? It just never has to me.
