Highlighting links

I`m completely resolved to the fact that I`ll never figure out how to post pictures. My wife, dogs, budgies and even the squirrels who inhabit my back yard can`t even figure that one out. Now, I know I`m a complete idiot when it comes to anything futuristic but sometimes when I try to provide a link it automatically highlights itself and sometimes it doesn`t. When it does my eyes light up as if I`ve won the Lottery. I`ve fooled around with the little tools on top but to no avail. Is there any sure fire way to do this or do I have to go out and buy more crap for my computer that hates my guts with a vengeance?

For images, you might be better off using the full reply editor --> click on Then click on the picture icon --> click on (when you're quoting you don't need to).  Maximise the  window, then insert the image URL (make sure that it has a .jpg extension and isn't just a link to a page (in other words, use the address found in the image properties by right-clicking on the image).  Otherwise, just highlighting and copying an image, then pasting it here can work.  The other way to do it is to to code it yourself by putting tags around the image location (leave no spaces).    For instance (this is broken due to spaces), [img ]address.jpg [/ img]

For hyperlinks to webpages, click on the following Insert address and press okay;   ottherwise, add urls tags manually -- [url ]address [/ url] (leave no spaces).  The other way is to use a hypertext link --. highlight a word or phrase, then click on --> remove text from the address and replace with the url.  Click okay, and then Bob's your uncle.  One can also manually do this with url tags [ url=insert url] insert text [ /url] (leave no spaces as I did or else it breaks it) to make CLICK
