I am still shocked, saddened, disapointed that it was there in the first place, I feel let down, I really do.

There should be no downloading period. Why can`t people go out and buy things anymore. Everyone is looking for a free ride that`s why this stupid economic crisis is upon us. Keep On Downloadin`!

It's a good point Chopper. Some of us older ones tend to think downloading = illegal downloading. These days, it is the preferred method of purchase for many people.

I love it when bands & labels that allow legal downloads. Itunes is still too pricey compared to CDs, and I eagerly await the inevitable subscription model that they are said to be pushing for with the labels.
But Emusic's choices are limited. I checked out a few acts that I would be interested in and frankly, for example, seeing the only Thin Lizzy album offered is a Live from 1975 gives me the idea that you're not getting the cream of the crop too often.
Sudden Death records, a punk site, gives you great deals on their bands. I bought DOA's latest for 7.54CAD. That's 14 songs. Marillion's Happiness on the Road is another that I downloaded directly, and paid them $5.42 CAD.
I'd love to be able to go online and pay reasonable prices for many bands, with the  expectation that 99% of the price is not going to a record label or middleman. I understand that download sites do costs the bands, but they can't be anywhere as costly as the label/distributor/etc system. It pisses me off knowing that the artist gets little from a $20 list price.
I'll buy albums new from the smaller acts like King's X, Los Lobos, Steve Earle and others, 'cause I know the sales finance the next album. But after that, I search out the second hand shops.
I've said this before, and I know this might be a big leap for the site; but there must be a way to work with small labels to make available for download through PA all those RPI treasures, the Krautrock releases, and many more that just aren't going to be easily found in your local record store. And I for one, don't feel content with having an album shipped and delivered two weeks or more later. I want it now.
Imagine Maneige moving a few thousand of their albums. Or Osannah getting even a few hundred sales.
Prog could lead the way in providing its' fans with easy access to the treasure trove of a storied past, and also help newer bands with an easier way to get their music out to the masses.
Once the infrastructure is in place, the rights holder can negoatiate with PA, and add it to the base.
